My site will be getting a much-needed facelift very, very soon. I cannot wait to share it!
Exciting Change
February 19th, 2012Photo of the Week-Week 2 {Howard County Photographer}
January 13th, 2012I am convinced that we will not be seeing snow again for quite some time, which is just fine by me after eleven winters in Minnesota. So, while I would love to share a beautiful photo of freshly-fallen snow, I have to settle for delicately placed frost on a dead plant in our back yard. I whipped out the macro lens for this shot, and I am quite pleased with the outcome.
Photo of the Week Project-Week 1 {Howard County Child Photographer}
January 6th, 2012Since I know I am too busy with my family for a Photo of the Day project, I have opted to try a Photo of the Week. For the first week of the new year, I was having my daughters be my guinea pigs as I played around with studio lighting for an upcoming newborn session. This shot was so adorable that I just had to use it as the kick-off image:
Walk to Bethlehem {Ellicott City, MD Event Photographer}
December 11th, 2011My faith is a large part of who I am. It always has been. I was saved at age six in a Baptist church, and I have never doubted the existence of God. I bounced around from one denomination to another until I moved to Minnesota. After taking five years to search for the church, I found my very first church home at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Since moving to Maryland in late December, 2010, I have been trying to recreate that same feeling at another church. While I do not believe I will find another church here that will fill my heart in the exact way Berean did, I am happy to say that I have found a lovely church to attend with kind people, a great mom’s bible study, and fantastic minister. I have jumped into Glen Mar United Methodist Church head-first by volunteering in Sunday school classes and taking photos for their annual Christmas event, Walk to Bethlehem. This event is a depiction of scenes from the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem.
While I took more candid shots on my first trip through the displays, I had planned to return for more artistic photos later. Sadly, I became ill and could not return. These are some of the shots I was able to capture while experiencing this annual event with my family:
The S Family {Alexandria, VA Family Photographer}
October 30th, 2011This is not the first time I have had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family, and I love spending time with them. What a blessing to have them so close to us on the east coast after meeting them in Minnesota. I had a nasty cold when we went out on a lovely afternoon to an Army base to take these beautiful photos. Love, love, loved everything, so it has been difficult choosing just a few to share.
Miss Sophie-9 Months {Annapolis Baby Photographer}
September 17th, 2011When Miss Sophie’s parents asked me to take their family photo and her nine-month portraits, I was excited. They were friends of mine from college, where we were all three music majors. We had a lovely, warm day to take photos at a gorgeous park on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. Miss Sophie was so sweet, but she was determined to figure out what that large black thing was over my eye (my camera). She would smile SO big, and then I would bring up my camera for a shot and she would look thoughtful again. So funny!
Miss Kayla, First Birthday Portraits
August 2nd, 2011We had so much fun being with this beautiful little lady on her first birthday. Her parents are friends of ours, and I just could not resist when they asked me to take her first birthday photos. She has the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen! I hope these photos bring her friends and family so much joy.
Baby Landon
July 24th, 2011I just love babies and children. Shocking coming from a mother of four, I know. Still, I get very excited every time someone contacts me about a newborn or baby session, including my own family. This little man is my newest nephew, and he is so adorable. He was quite an unhappy camper during his session, but I am still pleased with some of the photos. I am truly looking forward to his next session, and I hope he decides to be more cooperative for his only Auntie Donna.

Changes All Around
March 17th, 2011It is finally time to get my website working, and moving my blog is just the first step in this process. If all goes well, the home of my blog will be www.noyesphoto.com. Thanks to a wonderfully bright and patient friend, I am finally making headway with networking. Here’s to progress!
